SNCF to apply some changes that will not please users at all… We explain!
Decidedly, once again the SNCF should not be unanimous! Indeed, in addition to strikes, new changes will greatly impact users. And for good reason, since this Tuesday, February 7, 2023, the exchange and cancellation conditions SNCF tickets have undergone some modifications which impose less flexibility to travellers. And for good reason, tickets are no longer exchangeable or cancellable free of charge up to and including three days before the departure date, as explained Le Figaro, and as has been the case since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. Users will therefore have to organize themselves differently and take into account the fact that the conditions for exchanging and canceling SNCF tickets are now up to and including six days before the departure date. A delay which has therefore decreased, unlike the exchange or refund fees, which increase and go from 15 euros to 19 euros. Regarding Ouigo trains, as explained West France, no change. The exchange of a ticket is always charged 10 euros while the cancellation remains impossible. The conditions do not change either for people holding Business Première tickets.

These changes on the part of the SNCF have a single purpose according to the railway company, optimize train filling. Some travelers used to book several tickets for different dates or times to get the best price.
