Rekkles and her hair: a hair-raising Tier List

Photo: Ralph Lauren

Rekkles has over time become a major figure in the European League of Legends scene. Freshly landed in LFL thanks to the Karmine Corp, we will soon have the opportunity to admire his skill in our French league. But more than a player, the Swede is also a brand image which weighs enormously within the community and in the media sphere. While he’s collaborated with brands like Ralph Lauren, Rekkles always does it clean on him and takes special care of his haircut. For your greatest happiness as a fan esport, we deliver our Tier List hairstyles Rekkles.

Basic hairstyle: unconvincing hair beginnings

C Tier

DreamHack Bucharest, 2013.

This hairstyle is not catastrophic and some will like the natural. But if we compare to the other hair styles that will come later, it is clear that it can do better. We will also notice that it was really very young at the time. He was under 17 and could not play in the EU LCS at the time. He therefore enjoyed playing tournaments on the alternative circuit with Copenhagen wolves.

The frozen hairstyle: the beginning of the legend

B Tier

LCS EU, Summer 2014 - League of Legends
LCS EU, Summer 2014

It was in 2014 that Rekkles begins to write his legend, winning the title of European champion in his first year. He will also adopt a hairstyle that will serve as a benchmark for years to come. There is an idea, but we feel that the exercise is not completely mastered. The Swede was abusing the frost a bit at that time and it was too much slicked back to our liking. But whoever did not fall into this excess at this dark period in history, raise their hand.

The sober mower: simple but effective

S Tier

LCS EU, Spring 2015 - League of Legends
LCS EU, Spring 2015

We might be called old fashioned, but the hairstyle of Rekkles at the house of Elements in the spring of 2015 is one of our favorites. Sober, corn aesthetic, we will appreciate the small stroke of the mower on the sides to fit in with the times. If the jersey and the badge are necessarily a little task, we fully validate this style. Notably because later in his career, he sometimes had a little more trouble balancing good ideas with bad ideas.

The intellectual cut: the glasses that make the difference

A Tier

LCS EU, Summer 2015 - League of Legends
LCS EU, Summer 2015

We don’t often see Rekkles with some eyeglasses and photos with this accessory are relatively rare. He had taken them out for his return to Fnatic during the Summer 2015 to associate them with a haircut a little to the intellectual. By adding length everywhere, we could clearly see him at the time sitting on a Parisian terrace to leaf through a book of philosophy. It doesn’t sound like an esports player, but we validate the result.

The bun is no!

C Tier

Worlds 2015 - League of Legends
Worlds 2015

We don’t want explanations or excuses. For the Worlds 2015, the Swede had decided to release his secret weapon: the bun. In our opinion, the result is not at all convincing. We don’t know where Rekkles found its inspiration, but it looks like a Leader Price copy of a cut from footballer. Bun behind and shaved on the sides, we are not far from the fault of style. Yellow card !

The Iroquois gradient: too technical and not sufficiently mastered

B Tier

LCS EU, Spring 2016 - League of Legends
LCS EU, Spring 2016

In 2016, Rekkles had decided to keep the length to give us a hairstyle that was so technical and complex. We baptized him on Iroquois gradient, where it was clean shaven on the sides but where it had kept a good length on the top. We know that this type of hairstyle was in fashion at the time, but looking back, the result leaves us perplexed. Short or long, at one point you have to make a choice and it is sorely lacking in balance.

The beginning of the Caesar Cup, there is an idea!

LCS EU, Summer 2018

Our knowledge of hair remains limited, but by searching on the internet we found that this very cute little hairstyle could be compared to a Caesar cut. We apologize in advance to the purists, but beyond the name, we totally validate this style which is much more natural and relaxed. It changes and it refreshes a bit the image of the Swede, who sometimes seems to be a little too tense.

Porcupine undercut: it’s not crazy-crazy

Tier B

LCS EU, Summer 2018 - League of Legends
LCS EU, Summer 2018

This hairstyle is not very original and looks like some other versions of the hair in the Swedish. It is very close to thesober undercut, but it does everything less well for us. On the picture, Rekkles looks a bit like a Hedgehog. The result is not catastrophic either, but we have seen better.

The ball at almost zero: a feeling of waste

C Tier

LEC, Summer 2020 - League of Legends
LEC, Summer 2020

In Summer 2020, players participated in the LEC from the gaming house, coronavirus requires. They did not need to move on the set to play and we do not know if that gave an idea to Rekkles, but the Swede decided to adopt a whole new style: to make a ball almost zero. He obviously wasn’t bald and that’s not Caps’s level, but it was still surprising to see him with such short hair. But when you have such hair potential, you can do better!

The fox tail, it depends on the profile

KC vs KOI, showmatch (December 2021)

Today at Karmine Corp, Rekkles adopted yet another haircut. If we are obviously delighted to have him in the LFL, let’s focus for a few moments on his hairiness … It is a little difficult to categorize his latest style and we trivially baptized it the “fox tail cutter“, with a big lock that goes in front but hair cropped to the side.

In profile, we are totally valid this style and we appreciate the play of the gradient. But on some photos from the front, it looks a bit woozy … It may be a small detail, but be sure that the Swede will be observed from all angles in his new team. The result remains very satisfactory and we will give it a A Tier, which may improve with good results.

lfl-lol

Rekkles has yet to play a single minute with the Karmine Corp, but he’s already unleashing passions. Kameto does not hide his joy at having recruited the star in his League of Legend team. But he’s already facing a big problem and might turn to Riot Games for help …
