Relaxation for vaccinated people ?: Legal experts call for a Bundestag debate

Relaxation for vaccinated people?
Legal experts call for a debate in the Bundestag

Health Minister Spahn would like to give corona vaccinated people more freedom. Now legal experts from the CDU and SPD are calling for the issue to be put on the agenda in the Bundestag. The state government of Rhineland-Palatinate is already one step further on this issue.

Legal experts from the Union and the SPD are calling for the issue of easing for corona-vaccinated people to be dealt with in the Bundestag. The legal expert of the Union parliamentary group, Jan-Marco Luczak, told the “Welt am Sonntag”: “If studies confirm that people are no longer infectious after a vaccination, then the restrictions must be lifted.” From his point of view, this is constitutionally mandatory. The Bundestag must regulate whether restrictions should be withdrawn under certain conditions.

The legal expert of the SPD parliamentary group, Johannes Fechner, called for the already planned reform of the Infection Protection Act to be used to “clarify that protective measures according to the new scientific findings can only be directed at non-vaccinated people”.

Services of general interest such as buses, trains and supermarkets must also be available to people who have not been vaccinated. If there are companies that refuse to provide services of general interest to people who have not been vaccinated, legislative action must be taken, said Fechner.

Health Minister Jens Spahn had already given people who were completely vaccinated against Corona hope for more freedom when shopping and traveling as part of future easing steps. He announced about a week ago that anyone who had been vaccinated could go to the shop or the hairdresser without further testing.

The state government of Rhineland-Palatinate has already decided on exemptions from the compulsory test and the compulsory segregation after entry from a risk area for completely vaccinated people. However, the regulations initially apply to limited periods.

According to the recommendations of the Standing Vaccination Commission, anyone who received the second vaccination 14 days ago and has no typical symptoms of an infection with the coronavirus is currently considered fully vaccinated.
