This Monday, August 9, the extension of the health pass will come into force. It will become necessary to access many places, including restaurants and health facilities. On the eve of the implementation of this measure, Olivier Véran, Minister of Health, announced to the Parisian a relaxation of the rules concerning the tests allowing to obtain the precious sesame.

Tests valid for longer

To obtain your health pass, you must have a complete vaccination schedule against Covid-19 or have recovered from an infection with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. Otherwise, it is possible to perform a screening test. It is on this subject that Olivier Véran announced a relaxation. Indeed, from Monday, “a negative screening will be valid 72 hours and no longer 48 hours for the unvaccinated”, said the minister. In addition, another type of test can be used to obtain the pass: “It will be possible to perform self-tests supervised by a healthcare professional, in addition to antigen and PCR tests. These too will be valid for 72 hours.”

Increased fines for fake health passes

the Sunday newspaper indicates that the Ministry of Justice has sent a circular toughening the fines for those violating the law on the health pass. As confirmed BFM TV, it creates an offense of “fraudulent presentation of a health pass belonging to another”. As of Monday, French people caught presenting a fraudulently acquired health pass face a fourth-class fine, i.e. 750 euros, fixed at 135 euros. In the event of a repeat offense within a fortnight, the amount will be 1,500 euros. If there are three recurrences in the month, the fine will be 3,750 euros and may be accompanied by a six-month prison sentence.
