An artistic reinterpretation of the classic pong
At the very beginning of the 1970s, many people discovered a new arcade video game, inspired by ping-pong, namely the aptly named pong. The game quickly became very popular, as did its version on the Atari home console. But the brand is not done with pong, which it has already declined in NFT. Indeed, in 2024, players will be able to discover a new artistic interpretation of this classic, with qomp2.
For the little story, qomp2 is intended to be the sequel to the experimental indie title qompreleased in 2021, which promises to capture the essence of the game pong of 1972, of which he is the spiritual successor. The game poses the question of what would happen if the ball of pong decided to flee the game screen. A simple answer is in order: a bold foray into the world of freedom!
Two buttons only
Requiring only two buttons, the game will put the player in the shoes of the renegade ball on the run, and he will have to face the dangerous and minimalist world of qomp2. In addition to the original button, which changes the trajectory of the ball by 45 degrees, this new button makes it start back with a dash.
Atari explains that it is ” an epic punctuated by numerous enemies and bosses through 30 full-bodied levels spread over four worlds “. The objective will be to solve the puzzles offered by the environment and thwart its traps to reach the next level.
New qomp2 will be available in the course of 2024 on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox consoles, without forgetting the Atari VCS as well as on iOS and Android mobiles. Difficult to pass by. Will Neuralink also use this new version to test its implants?
