Religion Beatification of Pauline Jaricot in Lyon: already “blessed” in our departments


Already declared “venerable” in 1963 by Pope John XXIII, Pauline Jaricot, a Lyonnaise from the early 19th century who abandoned her bourgeois life as a family of silk workers to become a lay missionary, will be beatified this Sunday afternoon at Lyon Eurexpo, in front of 13 000 Catholics around the world.

It is the recognition as a miracle, by Pope Francis, of the healing of a little Lyonnaise of 3 and a half years, condemned by the medical profession after having choked, which had paved the way for her beatification.
