Remembrance Day: Harry and Meghan make a surprise appearance in Los Angeles

They stick to the tradition: On British Remembrance Day, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan visited a cemetery in Los Angeles.

Despite their new place of residence in the USA, Prince Harry (36) and Duchess Meghan (39) have not missed the opportunity to commemorate the British war dead on the traditional Remembrance Day. The couple left their Montecito, California property on Sunday (November 8) to visit the Los Angeles National Cemetery. There the two laid flower arrangements on two graves. The flowers should come from their own garden.

The couple also placed a wreath with a plaque in the cemetery that read "In memory of the men who sacrificed their lives to defend their country". The couple appeared in dark clothes: As can be seen in pictures published by Mail Online, among other things, Meghan wore a black coat with a midi-length belt, Harry was in a midnight blue navy suit with service medals.

In another photo, the two can be seen with a mask that they reportedly wore in the presence of other cemetery visitors. They later removed the face mask in a less crowded corner of the memorial.

No wreath from Harry in London

While Harry and Meghan remembered the fallen British soldiers in the United States, the British royal family showed up at the traditional Remembrance Sunday Service at the war memorial The Cenotaph in London. Since Harry could not be present at the ceremony, he is said to have asked the palace to place a wreath of poppies at the monument for him. The royal family is said to have turned down the request, as Harry no longer officially represents the royals since the "Megxit", as the "Sunday Times" reports.
