A doctor recalls the importance of a simple practice to fight against the virus, in addition to other things to do well.

The coronavirus epidemic is on the rise. The contamination rate is increasing, and hospitalizations are on the rise. The government is also raising awareness of the rising rate of contamination among young people. The 20-30 year olds have positive rates close to 6%, more than the national average.
In addition to the physical distance of one meter, wearing a mask and washing hands, a doctor recalls an essential, simple and free piece of advice: ventilate!
Doctor Christian Lehman writes in his article on Liberation: “We're always encouraged to sneeze into our elbows, use disposable tissues, but no public health organization carries a message as simple as this accessible advice to a child: 'Live with the windows open.' Naturally ventilating the room you live in, the room you work in, decreases the risk of contamination by aerosolization, by inhalation of suspended viral particles excreted by an infected person. In an enclosed space, the virus remains suspended in the air. To ventilate, to create drafts, is to dispel this viral cloud, to avoid contamination. “

On Twitter, one of his colleagues is broadcasting a powerful video to understand this contamination by aerosolization:

Also pay attention to poorly applied barrier gestures. Indeed, the mask can be misleading. As Oivier Véran said as an example in his speech on August 27, "The mask is not an immunity totem" : kissing while wearing one is totally counterproductive and makes it ineffective. It is also essential to wear it correctly, covering the mouth and nose.
Finally, avoiding public transport and favoring teleworking when possible remain effective practices to curb new contamination at the start of the school year.
