It’s one thing to want to go totally bald, it’s another to take the plunge and shave your head effectively, without cutting too much. In recent years, with the rise of this style, many razor manufacturers have been offering electrical devices specially designed for this use. The British Pitbull has even specialized in this very particular category. The American Remington is not to be outdone and presented the RX5 a few months ago, apparently a success since the manufacturer is upgrading this razor, which becomes the RX7 Ultimate XR1600.

The architecture remains similar and the device is held between the fingers, the blades in the palm and the motor on the back of the hand. Like the RX5 before it, the RX7 houses five rotating blades capable of shaving hair to a size of 0.2mm, but the flexibility of this head has been improved by 30% according to the manufacturer’s claims. However, the most fussy bald people will need a mechanical razor for a truly flawless result. Note that Remington has provided its new razor with a turbo mode for areas where the hair is denser. Good point, the auxiliary mower for the finishes is always there.

The mower can be of great service.

Waterproof, the RX7 Ultimate can be used in the shower and it is enough – theoretically – to pass it under a trickle of water to clean it. We still recommend a more in-depth maintenance at least every week to avoid seeing the cut hair accumulating in the moving parts. Finally, Remington promises an autonomy of 60 min (50 min for its predecessor) after a charge of 4 hours, all the same. An autonomy indicator should help the user not to end up with half a smooth skull and another half with a hairy “hair”…

The RX7 Ultimate XR1600 razor has just been unveiled and it’s still hard to find. You will have to spend around 100 € to afford it.
