Renaud: his new album “Métèque” scheduled for May 6

Renaud has just announced the release of his 19th album. It is therefore on May 6, just a few days before his 70th birthday, that his cover project entitled “Métèque” will hit the shelves.

If his CD will be available for pre-order from March 31, you will have to wait until May to discover what the artist has prepared in the studio. In the program ? Thirteen reinterpretations of titles by artists they inspired him: George Moustaki (logical when we see that he chose to call his album “Métèque”), Jacques Higelin, Françoise Hardy, Yves Montand, Hugues Auffray , Jean Ferrat, Bourvil or even Boby Lapointe.

The arrangements of his album are signed by Michel Coeuriot to whom we owe many songs by Laurent Voulzy, Louis Chedid, Nougaro or Alain Souchon to name but a few.

new health

Aged 69, Renaud is not about to stop his career. After having struggled against major addiction problems, the singer seems to be back on his feet. Three months ago, we also saw him singing alongside Bénabar in the clip “Chez les Corses”.

He declared to the Parisian last November: “I eliminated the cigarette, I went from sixty a day to fifteen. I am addicted to vaping. And I definitely quit alcohol six months ago. I am a new man”.

On the tour side, nothing, on the other hand, seems planned: “I am retired. I will do a minimum of promotion, that’s all. To console the fans, France 2 still dedicated a special evening to him on April 5 at the Dôme de Paris, with many guest artists including Tryo and Gauvain Sers.
