The jurors, meeting under the chairmanship of Dominique Bona on Thursday, October 13 at the Hôtel de Massa, deliberated and announced which were the eight authors who remained selected for their prize.
Four of the eight authors selected are in the running for other major prizes: Nathan Devers (Goncourt), Sybille Grimbert (Femina), Claudie Hunzinger (Medicis, Femina), Monica Sabolo (Médicis, Goncourt).
The Renaudot have selected two authors from the Grasset stable, Claudie Hunzinger and Simon Liberati, and two from Gallimard, Monica Sabolo and Christophe Ono Dit Biot. Thanks to Sybille Grimbert, the Anne Carrière editions enter the race for the grand prizes. Note that three authors from Buchet-Chastel editions are in the running for the Renaudot: Antoine Choplin in the novel category, Olivier Philipponnat and the very good Jean-Paul Mari in the essay category.
In any case, in this new school year, novels that evoke the link between men and animals and nature, such as those by Sandrine Collette, Sybille Grimbert and Claudie Hunzinger are popular.
