renewal of the strike at the Feyzin depot

The strike was renewed, Saturday, October 22 in the morning, until Monday, at the TotalEnergies fuel depot in Feyzin (Rhône), announced the General Confederation of Labor (CGT). According to Pedro Alfonso, its union representative, between 120 and 130 employees are on strike, which represents 90% of the shipping department and the Vemu department (energy, movement and utility), in which the movement is concentrated.

Six staff members, strikers or temporary workers, were also requisitioned by order of the prefect that same Saturday, he said. “The determination of the strikers is intact”said the union official, denouncing the requisitions made “without respect for the labor code”. The employees are demanding an increase in their salary in order to cope with inflation and taking into account the considerable profits reaped by the oil group.

The government has requisitioned employees at several sites and work has resumed at several TotalEnergies refineries and fuel depots, after an agreement negotiated on the night of October 13 to 14 between management and two unions – French Democratic Confederation of Labor (CFDT ) and the French Confederation of Managers – General Confederation of Managers (CFE-CGC). The CGT has not signed this agreement and two sites are continuing their strike, in Normandy and Feyzin.

In Gonfreville-l’Orcher, in Normandy, “the strike is extended until October 27”the day on which TotalEnergies is due to announce its third quarter results, “unless the management contacts us first”announced Friday Ludovic Desplanches, elected CGT.

Friday, the CGT responded to announcements of improvement in the situation made by the government by calling for two new national days of interprofessional strike on October 27 and November 10, by the voice of the confederal secretary of the union, Céline Verzeletti. A means of not releasing the social pressure so that the wage increase is general.
