repairing the system becomes even easier with this update

A new Windows 11 feature expected in spring 2024 will allow you to quickly reinstall the system from Windows Update, while keeping your files.

Sometimes, Windows 11 does as it pleases. Either Microsoft’s system starts to malfunction without much reason, but this is becoming more and more rare, or your hacks have made it unstable.

In these cases, instead of applying patches repairing the registry or system files here and there, it may be interesting to completely reinstall the system while keeping your files.

Microsoft will soon offer the possibility of carrying out this procedure directly from Windows Update and it is quite practical.

Repair Windows 11 in two clicks via Windows Update

In fact, this function has already been present in Windows for Insiders members for a few months. Simply go to Settings > System > Recovery and an option “Fix problems with Windows Update” will be visible.

Concretely, this option works similar to the Media Creation Tool, which allowed you to create a bootable CD or USB key in order to reinstall the system. Here, it works directly from Windows, which downloads the latest version of the OS to install it over the version you want to repair.

Of course, none of your personal files will be deleted in the procedure, such as your documents, videos, photos and even your applications. Generally, this is enough to resolve small problems encountered on Microsoft’s OS.

The feature should arrive in February or March 2024 during the Windows 11 Moment 5 update.
