Repeat.gg, one of the largest esports tournament platforms in the world, has been acquired by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

The Repeat.gg service has already organized more than 100,000 tournaments for 2.3 million participants. It is one of the largest online tournament platforms both synchronous and asynchronous. The site even rewards players based on their performance during competitions. PlayStation is gradually gaining ground on the various esports scenes.

Last year, the company bought the EVO, the biggest tournament in fighting games. A few weeks ago, the Japanese firm launched their first range of gaming accessories with the aim of becoming the Nike of esports. Now with the takeover of Repeat.gg, PlayStation strengthens its position vis-à-vis esportsand this, for all levels as described by the brand for the GamesIndustry.biz site.
