Update 2.4 will be released on April 14, 2022 and lay the foundation for the first season. There is a good reason for the delays: the 2.4 patch is currently being tested on the public test servers, which revealed a whole range of problems. The known problems should of course be fixed by April 14th, but due to the sheer number of players, it cannot be ruled out that previously unknown problems will come to light after the release of the update.

You can currently shorten the waiting time in Diablo 3, after all, the successor has been offering regular ladder seasons and content updates for many years. It is currently not known when the current season 25 will end and season 26 will open.
