Replenishment for Diablo fans: Update that has been postponed several times is finally imminent

Diablo 2: Ressurected fans have been waiting for the start of the first season for half a year to climb the ladder. After several postponements, Blizzard has finally announced a date for the upcoming update and the start of the season.

In action role-playing games like Diablo 2, you can theoretically still find new upgrades after years of playing, but such games get the greatest long-term motivation from their ladder seasons. All players create a new character and whoever makes the most progress over the course of the season can immortalize themselves on the leaderboards.

In Diablo 2, these seasons were still very popular decades after the release, so the anticipation for the seasons of the new edition Diablo 2: Resurrected was correspondingly high. However, even half a year after the release of the game, there is still no ladder. In an official forum post, Blizzard is finally speaking plain language.

Diablo 2: Resurrected: Ladder Season starts at the end of April

Update 2.4 will be released on April 14, 2022 and lay the foundation for the first season. The update includes all sorts of balance changes and new rune words to breathe new life into the game beyond the improved graphics. Finally two weeks later the ladder starts on April 28, 2022. There is a good reason for the delays: the 2.4 patch is currently being tested on the public test servers, which revealed a whole range of problems. The known problems should of course be fixed by April 14th, but due to the sheer number of players, it cannot be ruled out that previously unknown problems will come to light after the release of the update.

Through the two-week delay gives Blizzard enough leeway to remove any teething problems from the update, so that the ladder start can take place as smoothly and frustration-free as possible. When the time comes, you will find all the information about the best builds and other tips for the game here on GIGA.

You can currently shorten the waiting time in Diablo 3, after all, the successor has been offering regular ladder seasons and content updates for many years. It is currently not known when the current season 25 will end and season 26 will open. In order to prevent an overlap with Diablo 2, it is conceivable that Season 25 will either end within the next week or continue until May.
