Replenishment: New blockbusters come to the cinema earlier

"Greenland" with Gerard Butler and other films are supposed to distract German moviegoers from the Corona crisis earlier than previously expected.

"No time to die", "The Batman", "Dune", "Jurassic World: Dominion" … Many upcoming blockbusters have recently been postponed to a later release date due to the corona crisis. However, there are now a few exceptions that will be shown in theaters earlier than previously assumed.

From action to crime

Tobis recently announced that "Greenland", the new action film with Gerard Butler (50, "Angel Has Fallen") will no longer hit theaters on December 24th, but rather on October 29th. In the film by director Ric Roman Waugh (52), a family tries to flee from a comet in the supposedly safe Greenland. Morena Baccarin (41, "Deadpool") can be seen alongside Butler.

Constantin Film also prefers three films, as it recently became known. "Kaiserschmarrndrama", the new Eberhofer crime thriller with Sebastian Bezzel (49), was initially due to start in August, but was later postponed indefinitely due to the pandemic. Now the new Eberhofer should start on November 12th – on the previous start date of Daniel Craigs (52) last Bond mission in "No Time to Die".

The video game adaptation "Monster Hunter" with Milla Jovovich (44) and Ron Pearlman (70), which will be shown from December 3rd – three weeks before the US launch, has also been brought forward.

Also "Contra", the new film by Sönke Wortmann (61), should not actually start until next year. Christoph Maria Herbst (54) and Nilam Farooq (31) will appear in it from December 23rd.
