Lots of announcements after the Golden Globes
After the unsurprising but logical results of the 2024 Golden Globes, the week was rich in announcements and trailers for the series. At Netflix, the biggest piece was undoubtedly the promising trailer for its sci-fi series The 3-body problem. But the streaming service also quickly teased Season 2 ofArcana with a short video confirming the presence of Warwick.
The start of filming for season 5 of Stranger Things was also confirmed with a small photo of the cast.

At Disney, the Star Wars universe will continue to develop its already existing shows. Thus, Lucasfilm announced the start of work on a season 2 for Ahsoka and the imminent return of The Mandalorianbut in the form of a film for the cinema.
At Max, who will arrive in a few months with us, there is something new for The Last of Us. Season 2 of the series adaptation found the actress who would play the expected character of Abby. Other characters also found their interpreters in the process.
Paramount+ showed him the final trailer for season 2 of Halo. Finally, let’s note in passing that this week ended the nice Apple TV+ series For all Mankind (season 4) and Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (season 1).
A mess of layoffs in the industry
Less encouraging, this week was marked by numerous announcements of massive layoffs in the world of pop culture and that of tech which is linked to it. This is particularly the case at Unity, still in difficulty, but also at Amazon and its branches (including Twitch, still not profitable). Discord (which needs to become “ more agile “) is also affected, as is Pixar because of the difficulties encountered by Disney+.
This week was also CES. The tech event was notably an opportunity to lift the veil on many products that gamers will probably use in the future (peripherals, screens, accessories, etc.). Head to our complete coverage of the show to find out more!
