An incident in a technical room housing signaling equipment at Châtelet-les-Halles station, which occurred shortly after noon on Thursday September 7, caused very serious disruptions on the three RER lines A, B and D in the center of Paris.
On the RER B, trains no longer run between the Gare-du-Nord and Luxembourg stops. Traffic is disrupted on the rest of the line. On this line, the resumption of traffic is now announced for 7:30 p.m.. Initially, the resumption was scheduled for 3 p.m., then at 5 p.m., then 6 p.m., before being postponed again.
On the RER A, traffic resumed between Nation and Auber stations around 5 p.m., but traffic on the whole line remains “very disturbed”. Finally, on the RER D, the resumption of traffic is only announced from 8 p.m. between Gare-du-Nord and Gare-de-Lyon stations. “Traffic also remains significantly slowed down on the entire line as a result of the breakdown”, it is specified elsewhere. Travelers are invited to take metro lines 14 and 4 or 1 and 5.
