Rescue helicopter use – 12-year-old fell four meters through a hole

During a discovery tour with his father and two brothers in the Falkenstein castle ruins in the municipality of Hofkirchen, a 12-year-old boy fell three to four meters through a 50 centimeter hole on Saturday. The injured person was rescued by the fire brigade and then came to the Kepler University Hospital in a rescue helicopter.

A 12-year-old from the Grieskirchen district climbed into the so-called water tower of the Falkenstein castle ruins in the Hofkirchen community with his father and two brothers on September 25 at around 3:40 p.m. There he went alone down a spiral staircase to a floor below the entrance.

Rescued by the fire brigade
For a previously unknown cause, the boy fell there through an approx. 50 cm hole in the ground approx. Three to four meters deep. He remained lying on the stone floor in the room below with injuries of indeterminate degree. The 12-year-old received emergency medical care and was rescued from the tower by the Hofkirchen fire brigade using recovery equipment. He was then taken to the Kepler University Hospital by rescue helicopter.
