Rescued alive – Tyrol: Another 3 people buried in avalanches

The series of avalanches in Tyrol does not stop: In the Zillertal and in Gries im Sulztal (Imst district), a total of three people were buried by snow masses on Saturday afternoon. One person was flown to the hospital, two others apparently escaped with horror.

At around 2:30 p.m., a winter sports enthusiast in Schwendau in the Zillertal was buried by an avalanche in open terrain. Fortunately, the alarmed mountain and piste rescuers were able to quickly locate and dig up the person. After the first aid, the person concerned was flown to the district hospital in Schwaz with the emergency doctor helicopter. In the Wannenkar area near the Amberger Hütte, two people were hit and buried by masses of snow. They were able to free themselves or by rescuing comrades. They should have remained largely unharmed.
