Just a few weeks after the broadcast of the finale of Alice Nevers, who bowed out after 20 years on the air, it is the turn of Research Section to say goodbye to TF1.

Filmed at the end of last year, the concluding double episode of the detective series led by Xavier Deluc and Franck Sémonin, entitled “New departure”, will be offered on Thursday April 21 at 9:10 p.m. on the front page, replacing Balthazar, whose last chapter of season 4 will have been scheduled the previous week.

It is therefore a nice gift to which fans of Research Section, which had been canceled by TF1 in April 2021, shortly after the broadcast of season 14, will be entitled. Before the channel finally decides to offer a real end to Bernier, Auriol, and their fellow gendarmes from Nice via this final that is inevitably eagerly awaited by viewers.

After 14 seasons and no less than 163 episodes, the hour of retirement has come for Martin Bernier when this two-part episode begins, directed by Eric Le Roux and written by Denis Alamercery and Eloïse Tibet Zanini.

Vicky (Félicité Chaton), very attached to her superior, then organizes a surprise weekend for him with the current members of the SR as well as some of the former collaborators. Located on a quiet island cut off from the world, the old family home of the young woman will be the place of celebration.

Everyone, with the exception of the guest of honour, meets the day before to prepare for the event. For some it is a touching reunion for others it is a first meeting. Which is not always obvious. The next day when Bernier, accompanied by Lucas lands on the island, he is delighted and touched to see them all gathered for him. But very quickly things go wrong.

We discover on the beach the lifeless body of one of them. Accident ? Murder? All, with the exception of Bernier, turn out to be suspect. Who is guilty ? This is the question that will be at the center of “New Departure”, the final part of the Agatha Christie-inspired research section.

Alongside Xavier Deluc (Tomorrow belongs to us), Franck Sémonin, and Félicité Chaton, the faithful of the detective series created by Dominique Lancelot will obviously find Elise Tielrooy (Ariel), Stéphane Soo Mongo (Alexandre), and Fabienne Carat, who had joined Research section in season 14 in the role of Jeanne Lorieux, a new investigator with a troubled past.

But this finale will also be an opportunity to reunite with some of the series’ former star actors, whose very first episode was broadcast in 2006 on TF1: Linda Hardy (Claire Linsky) present in seasons 3 and 4, Virginie Caliari (Mathilde Delmas) and Jean-Pascal Lacoste (Luc Irrandonéa), thanked at the end of season 7, and Chrystelle Labaude (Nadia Angeli), who left in season 11 and who has since bounced back thanks to the France 2 soap Un Si Grand Soleil.

See you on April 21 on TF1 to discover the conclusion of Research Section. And, for the most impatient, the first part of this double final episode will be screened in preview on Wednesday April 6 at 2 p.m. at Espace Miramar in Cannes, as part of the Canneseries Festival, in the presence of Xavier Deluc, Franck Sémonin , and Fabienne Carat.
