As you may know, the highly anticipated remake of Resident Evil 4 is finally available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S and PC this Friday, March 24, 2023. Players can therefore (re)discover this mythical episode of the capcom horror saga, in a modernized and brilliantly redesigned formula.

To celebrate the launch of the title, the Japanese studio has just released a final trailer. The opportunity for players to have a summary of what awaits them in this remake: intense clashes against ganados in the famous village, the castle of Salazar without forgetting the island where the epilogue of the game takes place.

As a reminder, we have praised in our columns the high quality of this remake of Resident Evil 4. In a few words, the title stands out as a vibrant tribute to the cult episode released in 2005. Faithful to the original material, this remake does not forget to improve on all points the formula, whether on the side of the gameplay, the level design, the narration or the graphic part, with a resplendent RE Engine.

Mercenary Mode confirmed by Capcom

Nevertheless, we regretted the absence of certain iconic game modes of the first RE 4 of the name. In effect, players will have to do without the DLC dedicated to Ada and called Separate Ways for the moment. But according to reputable insider DuskGolem, Capcom is currently revisiting this fan-favorite extension, in order to probably offer it in paid content during the year.

Among the other shortcomings, it is obviously necessary to mention Mercenary mode. As a reminder, this game mode focused on scoring invited players to survive endless waves of enemies as long as possible in several arenas inspired by the different areas of the campaign.

This appreciated mode especially allowed to embody various key characters of the franchise, like Leon of course, but also Ada, Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield, Hulk or even Albert Wesker. Each character had their own arsenal.

Well, good news since Capcom confirms at the end of this trailer the arrival of Mercenaries mode from April 7, 2023. Or in two short weeks. Note that this mode will be accessible for free.
