Resident Evil: Capcom confirms what all fans hoped for

Like the zombies it depicts, franchise resident Evil not ready to die. The saga continues with new episodes, a ninth major opus could also arrive in 2025, but Capcom also counting on remakes of old partswith Resident Evil 2, 3 And 4 between 2019 and 2023.

The Japanese studio regularly surveys players to find out if they would like to see other remakes of the saga, but here, it’s much more concrete. Yasuhiro Anpo, director of the remake of Resident Evil 4was at PlayStation Partner Awards, IGN Japan asked him if other remakes of resident Evil were planned at Capcomthe answer is pleasant:

Yes. We have already released three remakes and they have been very well received. It allows a more modern audience to play these games, it’s something I love doing as someone who loved these old games, and I want us to continue to do more of them.

I would like to announce in the future which game we are going to remake in the future, so stay patient.

The director of RE4 also admits that doing a remake is a bit of an easy solutionthe public is already won over and the risk-taking is minimal.

When developing a new game, there is no way of knowing what will be well received by players, which makes things difficult. In the case of a remake, there are already players who have played the original, which I think can be seen as an advantage. We are very grateful to users who express their opinions. This allows us to evolve taking into account the player’s opinion. Like, if that’s how the players feel, then maybe we can make it happen that way. I think that’s one of the reasons why our remakes are so well received.

Logic would dictate that Capcom developing a remake of Resident Evil 5one of the most popular parts of the saga (8.9 million copies sold, as RE6), but the title was released in 2009 on PS3 and Xbox 360, it has not aged much. Contrary to Resident Evil Code: Veronica. No projects concerning this episode were underway in 2022, however, Capcom had a fan-made remake canceled soon after, similar to the time of Resident Evil 2. Enough to give hope to players, even if it must be admitted that this opus does not have the same popularity as the others…

While waiting to know what has in store for us Capcomyou can find Resident Evil 4 from €45.98 on Amazon, Cdiscount And there Fnac.
