Resident Evil: The Netflix series is getting very bad feedback from the public

The galley continues for the adaptations of resident Evil. After a last film released last year which had a lot of trouble convincing fans, to the point of making Paul WS Anderson’s films almost watchable (no, we’re kidding), the license of Capcom was entrusted to netflix to produce a series like no other, which takes the gamble of departing greatly from the basic plot. This new series resident Evil is therefore available since July 14, but as one might expect, it is far from unanimous.

The beginning of the end for the series?

As Forbes points out, this series resident Evil is now one of Netflix’s lowest rated shows by audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, or on IMDB. Its score is now 25% on the first site, and 3.6 (out of 10) on the second.

Which is much lower than other series that were canceled by Netflix quite quickly (the SVOD platform is rarely lenient), such as cowboy bebop Where Jupiter’s Legacy. This is obviously not what will decide the future of the series or not, since Netflix watch the audience above all else, but this score deserves to be underlined.

How to explain this failure?

Forbes correctly points out that behind these criticisms, there is undoubtedly a review-bombing of the fans of the games, which would also hide a certain form of racism towards the cast, given that the choice of actor Lance Reddick for embodying Albert Wesker caused a lot of reaction.

But beyond that, it would seem that the series is struggling to convince, whether because of its too distant relationship to video games, or its double plot which does not captivate many people.

And you, what do you think of this series? resident Evil ? Does it deserve a second season?
