Resident injured – pot forgotten on the stove: kitchen caught fire

Carelessness had bad consequences for a 39-year-old in Schwaz in Tyrol on Thursday afternoon. The man left a pot of oil unattended on the stove when it was turned on. The oil ignited and started a kitchen fire.

When the 39-year-old noticed the smell of fire in the kitchen, the facility was already on fire. The man tried to control the fire with two fire extinguishers. But he didn’t succeed. The tenant may have suffered smoke poisoning during attempts to extinguish the fire. He was admitted to Schwaz Hospital. The fire brigade responded with 30 emergency services. Only the Schwaz fire brigade managed to put out the kitchen fire. 30 emergency services were on site. The extent of the material damage caused is not yet clear.
