(CercleFinance.com) – Repsol has announced that it will become a strategic shareholder of Acteco, a company specializing in the collection and recovery of waste in Spain, to guarantee its access to plastic waste and promote the circular economy of its Repsol Reciclex range.
Following this entry into the capital, through the acquisition of a 27% stake by the Spanish energy company, Acteco will double its plastic recycling capacity in five years. Repsol and Acteco have been collaborating since 2018 on the circular economy.
“This step is essential to achieve Repsol’s goal of recycling the equivalent of 20% of its polyolefin production by 2030,” said Jaime Martín Juez, executive director of refining and chemicals at Repsol.
