Restaurants, bars, cultural places… Emmanuel Macron gives a horizon for the reopening: Femme Actuelle Le MAG

Closure of schools, teleworking, partial unemployment, Easter holidays … Emmanuel Macron’s speech on Wednesday March 31, 2021 was eagerly awaited by the French, so many areas were involved. The President of the Republic has thus tightened the screws and announced new measures to fight against the spread of Covid-19 in France. From April 3, 2021, it will therefore no longer be 19 departments but the whole of metropolitan France which will be affected by the third confinement. In addition, the Head of State announced the closure of nurseries, schools, colleges and high schools for a minimum of three weeks. Emmanuel Macron also announced an acceleration of the vaccination campaign, put at risk for several weeks, in particular because of the controversies on the vaccine AstraZeneca.

“Rediscover this French art of living”

But in the midst of all this serious news Emmanuel Macron still wanted to share more encouraging information. The tenant of the Élysée wanted to be reassuring and assured that all the restrictions in place are only to ensure a better future. “My dear compatriots, the efforts of April on the one hand and the deployment of vaccination on the other hand, it is this pincer that will allow us to gradually contain this new virus”, he said, in a serious tone, before moving on to subjects which also interest citizens: the reopening of restaurants, bars and cultural venues. “This pincer which will allow us, from mid-May, to gradually begin to reopen the country, to find this culture which we missed so much, to find the meeting places, the shops, to find this French art of living that are the restaurants, the cafes that we love so much“, he explained, before defining the levels which will make it possible to arrive at this stage.

A reopening of cultural establishments from mid-May 2021?

“From mid-May, we will start to open certain places of culture again with strict rules”, he continued. “We will authorize the opening of the terraces under conditions and we will build between mid-May and the beginning of summer a calendar of gradual reopening for sport, culture, leisure, events, our cafes and our restaurants “. A date that the French will certainly mark with a milestone!
