Resuscitation unsuccessful – 59-year-old fell and died after being hit


In Buchs, right on the border with Vorarlberg, there was a tragic incident on Saturday night: A 59-year-old Swiss got into an argument with a 26-year-old North Macedonian. The 59-year-old fell and was no longer responsive. Resuscitation was also unsuccessful. Meanwhile, the man’s opponent fled the scene.

At 1.30 a.m. on Saturday, the police were informed that two men in Buchs were arguing on the street. According to the current state of the investigation, the 59-year-old Swiss and the 26-year-old North Macedonian got into a dispute for a previously unknown cause. The younger one is said to have beaten the older one too.

Victim died on the street
The 59-year-old went down and was no longer responsive. The resuscitation attempts by the police were just as unsuccessful as those of the emergency doctor, the 59-year-old died on the street.

Meanwhile, the 26-year-old had run away. The St. Gallen canton police picked up the man a little later and arrested him.
