Retirement, salary, Livret A, LEP, gasoline, taxes, DPE …. What changes in August for your budget

Regulated savings accounts will see their remuneration increase on August 1, 2022, as will certain social benefits, the index point for civil servants or retirement pensions. Summer also means taxes and new penalties for energy strainers. MoneyVox gives you a summary of what will change from August 1, 2022.

The remuneration of the Livret A and the LDDS on the rise…

We can’t stop it! Confining low earnings for many years, the Livret A rate increases again on 1 August to 2%. In February, the first increase since 2011, had changed its rate from 0.5 to 1%. As good news never comes alone, the Sustainable and Solidarity Development Book (LDDS) follows the same trajectory.

However, these salaries are below the current level of inflation. If you want to know how much you lose each month with Livret A and/or LDDS, use the MoneyVox calculator.

…. that of the Young Booklet too

Automatically, the rate of remuneration of the Livret Jeune increases by a minimum of 2% because the banks must align themselves – at least – with the level of the Livret A.

The remuneration of the People’s Savings Booklet (LEP) explodes

Unknown to the general public, the People’s Savings Booklet (LEP) is the best available today, if your income allows you to open one. On August 1, its rate went from 2.2 to 4.6%. Under conditions of resources, it is possible to deposit up to 7700 euros on a LEP.

Taxes: the dates not to be missed

If the tax notice must be communicated to you very quickly by the tax authorities, other dates are to be checked this summer. An example? Did you know that from August 3 you can report an error in your spring income tax return?

The minimum wage 1,329 euros net monthly

Driven by inflation in June, the Smic will increase by 2% on August 1st. The monthly minimum wage thus passes for a full time of 1302.64 euros 1329.06 euros net, according to the Minister of Labor.

Improved social benefits…

The 4% increase in pensions and social benefits was voted by the deputies last week. This will take effect… from 1 July retroactively. This concerns in particular retirement and disability pensions from the basic schemes, family allowances and social minima, namely the active solidarity income (RSA), the adult disability allowance (AAH), the solidarity allowance for the elderly (Aspa) and scholarships based on social criteria for students.

The actual payment of the new pension levels could take place at the end of August.

… the point of index of civil servants also

Civil Service Minister Stanislas Gurini announced on June 28 a 3.5% increase in the index point for civil servants. This measure will have to be adopted by the National Assembly as part of the amending finance bill for 2022, currently being debated by the deputies. If this is the case, the update could be made as soon as the salaries for the month of August are paid.

A bonus the pump extends in August

To appease the current debates between the deputies, the Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire affirmed his desire to increase aid at the pump from 18 to 30 centimes per liter of gasoline in September and October, then to increase it to 10 centimes in November and December. While waiting for the final decision, in August, State aid is therefore 18 euro cents per liter.

The company Total nergie has for its part announced the establishment of an additional aid of 10 to 20 centimes in some of its stations.

Gas price freeze and a 60% increase quickly

The regulated gas tariffs (TRV) will not increase in 2022. Nevertheless, as usual since October 2021, the Energy Regulation Commission (CRE) has published what the tariffs would have been by respecting the calculation formula the letter. The result is cause for concern for consumers: The average level of regulated sales prices on August 1, 2022 would have been 68.60% higher excluding tax, or 61.90% including tax, compared to the level in force set on October 1 last.

DPE: rent freeze for properties F and G

The clock is ticking for France’s energy strainers. As of August 25, rent increases will be prohibited for housing classified F or G. The prohibition applies when establishing a new lease or during an annual review during the lease.
