Bob hairstyles are never hip! Now the hairstyle classic gets a cool upgrade that is not only elegant – it can be worn with any hair structure. The flicked bob is trending this fall.

The 90s are back a long time ago. We have seen almost all the trends of the motley decade again, now we feel like a new era. When it comes to hairstyles, we’re going back a few years in autumn 2022: It’s going to the 50s and 60s, when it was all about volume, swing and movement. The flicked bob is THE trend hairstyle for fall 2022.

Celebrities are already loving the flicked bob

Whether Hailey Bieber, Billie Eilish, Naomi Scott or Olivia Culpo – the stars already love the flicked bob. No wonder, after all, the bob version is cool and still glamorous and elegant. What is the flicked bob all about? For the trend hairstyle of the 60s, which is now celebrating its comeback, the ends of the hair are blow-dried outwards, i.e. away from the face. This creates a slight outer wave that is characteristic of the flicked bob. The rest of the hair is usually severely parted and can even be gelled sleek on the head for added drama. The slight curve outwards at the ends of the hair creates an exciting finish.

How to style the flicked bob

In the flicked bob, the hair is cut about chin-length at most to the shoulders. After washing, blow dry your locks and work the ends outwards with the brush. It is best to use a round brush for the perfect sweep. Depending on how big or small you want it, you choose your round brush. If your hair is not naturally straight, you can use a straightening iron to help. With this you can give the tips an additional swing outwards.

A good tip that makes styling the flicked bob easier: when blow-drying, work from the roots down. This closes the cuticle layer and the hair is noticeably smoother and shinier.
