Reverse contouring can be seen everywhere on TikTok and Co. Here we explain exactly what that is and how the trend works.

While a few years ago we didn’t even know how contouring works, it is now part of the beauty routine for many. Whether soft or dramatic – by and large we all know how it’s done. However, a completely new method of contouring is circulating on social media, which is primarily about the contour of the nose: reverse contouring.

As the name suggests, with reverse contouring we simply do everything in the reverse order. At first glance this can seem a bit daunting, but the result – it’s hard to believe – actually looks good.

Reverse contouring: this is how the trend works

Unlike normal contouring, we start with a bronzer or contour tone. Cream textures are best suited here, as these can be faded out better and more easily. You will soon find out why this is so important.

Now give the cream bronzer over a large area over your whole nose. It really has to look completely brown. Then you take a light, well-covering concealer, with which you then paint the desired nose contour. So you draw two straight lines on the sides of the bridge of the nose and also put some product on the side of the nose so that you can practically paint over the bronzer again. Also in the middle of the bridge of the nose you put a line with concealer.

Now the whole thing is carefully faded out. It is best to use a concealer brush, your fingers or a small beauty sponge. The colors should ultimately retain their precise positioning so that the result is effective in the end. First blend the concealer and then the contour color.

Admittedly: This type of contouring takes a little longer, but it looks very precise. Of course, nose contouring is absolutely not a must, but if you do it anyway, you can definitely try the new trend. Incidentally, it originally came from the TikTok video platform. Wait and see how long it can actually last …
