In the small, quiet town of Cagnac-Les-Mines, a few tens of kilometers from Albi, the excitement and concern remain great. Still no trace of Delphine Jubillar, a discreet 33-year-old nurse who disappeared on the night of December 15 to 16, 2020, leaving behind young children and relatives who find it difficult to believe in a voluntary disappearance. Back to the chronology of the case.

Wednesday December 16, 2020: the report of the disappearance

On the morning of December 16, 2020, the disappearance of Delphine Jubillar was reported to the gendarmes by her husband, Cédric Jubillar. The missing, who was going through a divorce, "would have gone alone on foot during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday", explained to Agence France-Presse the prosecutor of Albi, Alain Berthomieu. She reportedly went out without papers or cell phone to walk her two dogs, who then returned without her. "It was early in the morning that the husband noticed that his wife was no longer at home and reported the disappearance", added the magistrate. Three hypotheses are then possible for the investigators: that of an accident, a voluntary departure and the criminal thesis.
On BFMTV, Monday, December 21, Patrice Norkowski, the mayor of Cagnac-les-Mines, confides: "We are very worried about this disappearance in our peaceful village". For his part, the husband says he is overwhelmed by the disappearance of his wife.

Wednesday 23 December 2020: opening of a criminal investigation

On Wednesday, December 23, 2020, a citizen fight is organized. It lasts all day, with many inhabitants of the village mobilized, but nothing significant. The investigation into the disturbing disappearance of Delphine Jubillar then takes a criminal turn. The public prosecutor of Toulouse announces, in a press release, the opening of a judicial investigation for counts "arbitrary kidnapping, detention or forcible confinement for more than seven days", relates Actu.fr.

This is when all eyes turn suspiciously on the husband, who says he is extremely sorry. Presumed innocent, he has against him the data concerned the disappearances and murders of women, but also, a particular context: the judicial outcome of the Daval case took place a few days earlier. In this case, however, the grieving husband turned out to be the murderer. Relatives also notice that the couple was going through a divorce and evoke a somewhat marginal Cédric Jubillar, "quite negative in the end", who tends to verbally demean his wife.
