Rhonda Fleming: The former Hollywood star has died

Actress Rhonda Fleming is dead. She passed away on Wednesday (October 15) at the age of 97 in Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica, California, as the industry magazine "Variety" reported, citing her assistant. The cause of death is unknown. Fleming was one of the absolute Hollywood greats in the 1940s and 1950s and was made famous by Alfred Hitchcock's "I fight for you" (1945).

Rhonda Fleming starred in more than 40 films over the course of her career. Her appearances in Jacques Tourneur's "Goldenes Gift" (1947) or in Robert Siodmak's "Die Wendeltreppe" (1946) will not be forgotten. She also stood in front of the camera with Hollywood greats such as Kirk Douglas (1916-2020), Glenn Ford (1916-2006) and Bob Hope (1903-2003). In 1980 she ended her acting career, but returned again in 1990 for short films. In addition to her work in film, she supported numerous organizations that campaigned against cancer, homelessness and child abuse, among other things.

Rhonda Fleming was married a total of six times, including to actor Lang Jeffries (1930-1987) and film producer Hall Bartlett (1922-1993). She was married to Darol Carlson from 2003 until his death in 2017. Fleming leaves behind a son, four stepchildren, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
