In a forest in the Rhône, not far from Lyon, human bones were discovered this Thursday, December 16, a few days after walkers came across another skeleton in the same area.
Macabre discoveries follow one another in the Rhône. This Thursday, February 16, hunters came across a human skeleton in the forest from Saint-Romain-au-Mont-d’Or, near Lyons. In a few days, it is already the second time that human bones are found in the same area. Indeed, a first skeleton had been found by walkers on the edge of a path less than a week earlier.
According to information from our colleagues at Le Progrès, the second skeleton is that of a person who would have fallen from the path upstream. According to the first elements, the victim was dressed in sports clothes, and his body was discovered on a rough ground. Of the DNA analyzes which should make it possible to identify the victim are in progress.
The first skeleton identified thanks to a jewel
As for the first skeleton found a few days earlier by a resident of the town on her land, it would be that of a 78-year-old man, missing for a year and a half. His relatives were able to authenticate his corpse thanks to a jewel. An autopsy must still confirm the identity of the victim. The missing person suffered from a degenerative disease and could have slipped from a path before disappearing.
