Rhône Priscilla, family assistant, opens her home to foster children


“When we talk about our profession, we always have to specify host family”, Priscilla points out. Mother of 5 children aged 2 to 19, this resident of eastern Lyon, became a family assistant somewhat by chance after working as a musical awakening teacher, but also in animation.

In the winter of 2012, a call had been launched in the college where her husband teaches. “Two young Bosnian girls had no home. We have become a “trustworthy third party”, we have agreed to act as if we were a foster family. It lasted the whole school year,” says Priscilla. After this experience, she became a family assistant. She has had a child for four years. “It’s going well,” smiles Priscilla, even if the start was tricky. “We had to accompany him as well as possible, be very present”
