Rhône Traffic info: we drive better on the southern route

16 hours | The peak of traffic jams has been reached

The peak of traffic jams now seems to have passed. There are only three kilometers of accumulated traffic jams, against twenty since the morning.

The difficulties remain concentrated on the Autoroute du Soleil, near Bollène from south to north, as well as Bourg-lès-Valence and Montélimar on the other side.

Count all the same about ten minutes of waiting at the entrance of the tunnel under Fourvière.

2:30 p.m. | Residual difficulties

There are still 2 km of traffic jams upstream of the tunnel under Fourvière, notably linked to an accident, on the leftmost part of the tracks, towards Marseille.

On the A43, also note that exit ramp no. 12 for Lac d’Aiguebelette is saturated. Prefer the previous output.

14 hours | Traffic remains heavy on the A7

Despite generally more fluid traffic, with 11 km of cumulative traffic jams, the difficulties are still concentrated on the A7 in both directions. You will first have to wait to reach it from the south of Lyon, with a 15-minute wait towards the Vienne toll. It now takes 3h20 to reach Orange from Lyon, compared to the usual hour and a half.

Very complicated circulation also on the other side. An accident between two cars took place on the left lane, near exit 20 at km 150. The number of lanes has been reduced to two instead of three. It now takes 2h30 to reach Lyon from Orange, compared to 1h15 normally.

Beware of the high temperatures, which have been enameling all of France for several days already with 16 departments on orange alert. The sun visor and portable fans remain your friends. Also try to ventilate your vehicle when it is (a little) cooler.

12:15 p.m.| The point at noon

Bison Futé announces red in the direction of departures and orange in the direction of returns.

The traffic is always very complicated in the direction of the Mediterranean, with an accordion traffic. Count more than 4 hours to descend the Rhône Valley from Lyon, against a little more than an hour and a half usually. It is particularly very complicated south of Lyon, towards Solaize, where ten kilometers of traffic jams accumulate.

Same observation on the tunnel under Fourvière, where it blocks in the direction of the A6 for about ten kilometers.

Finally, the heavy goods vehicle accident on the A72 lingers near Feurs towards Saint-Etienne. Count more than twenty minutes of slowdown, the repairmen being always on the spot.

11:45 a.m. | Traffic jams pile up as noon approaches

Traffic continues to be congested with more than 23 km of accumulated traffic jams. It is particularly dense along the Rhône valley, on the A7. Allow 3h50, instead of an hour and a half, to reach Lyon from Orange.

The A6 is still impacted, with an extended delay of 20 minutes between Beaune and the capital of Gaul.

Complicated traffic also on the A72 towards Saint-Etienne, near Feurs, following a heavy goods vehicle accident. One lane out of two is blocked.

11:00 | Lots of people on the A6

The traffic is very heavy between Beaune and Lyon, in particular on arrival at the Villefranche-Limas barrier, with 12 km of accumulated traffic jams. The journey time is increased by 25 minutes between the two cities, count 1h45.

As you pass through the tunnel under Fourvière, a 3 km bottleneck awaits you before you can cross it.

10:15 a.m. | Heavy traffic arriving at the Limas tollbooth on the A6

In the middle of the morning, be careful on the A43: a pedestrian is near his car, on the hard shoulder, after exit 8 (Bourgoin-Jallieu), in the Lyon-Chambéry direction.

Early in the morning, already, an accident occurred near Saint-Quentin-Fallavier.

On the A6, in the Beaune-Lyon direction, the Limas toll is close to its saturation threshold. Count 5 to 6 km of traffic jams to pass the barrier.

In the Givors sector, there are 12 km of traffic jams at the junction between the A7 and the A46, according to Autoroute Info. You have to wait between 30 and 35 minutes.

At the Fourvière tunnel, in Lyon, it is not yet too difficult, with 2 km of disturbances.

Finally, on the A7, towards the south, travel times are greatly extended, you will need 3/4 of an hour more, or 2h45 to reach Orange from Lyon.
