Rhône Twenty TER lines disrupted by the SNCF strike

Strike day on the French rail. The railway unions CGT Unsa, Sud and CFDT of the SNCF called to stop work this Wednesday, July 6 to demand global wage increases in the face of inflation. As a result, many users find themselves at the platform this Wednesday morning in the Lyon and Rhône stations, with many trains canceled on the TGV and TER lines in the department.

3 to 4 out of 5 TGVs

If the international traffic, Eurostar in particular, is rather spared, the affair thickens on the sides of the TGV, with only 4 out of 5 trains on the South-East axis and 3 out of 5 on the East axis, as well as Ouigo ( 2 of 3). It is the Intercity connections that should be the most disrupted. For example, there will simply be no train running on the Lyon-Nantes line today.

Galley between Lyon and Saint-Étienne

On the TER network, SNCF AuRA does not give localized figures, but evokes “strong disturbances”, especially on the morning segment. “This concerns several lines, in particular Lyon-Saint-Étienne and Lyon-Bourg”, continues its communication unit. On Twitter, users also mention difficulties on the line linking Saint-Germain to Mont d’Or in Lyon, which is widely used by workers.

In detail, around twenty lines will experience disruptions in the department, nearly 50 in the region. This is particularly the case for the western tram-train lines between Saint Paul and Brignais, Saint-Bel and Lozanne; those towards Ambérieu, Grenoble and Annecy in the east, towards Vienne and Valence in the south, towards Saint-Étienne, Le Puy and Moulins in the east or towards Villefranche, Mâcon and Dijon in the north. The list of disrupted lines and schedule changes are available here. Information is also available on the SNCF website and application, its Twitter accounts and the Allo TER number 09 69 32 21 41.

The notice of the unions is only valid for this day of July 6. It was filed on June 23. “Users have been warned upstream”, assures SNCF AuRA, by SMS in particular for those who had reservations, and invited to postpone their trips. Employees have been encouraged to favor teleworking. They do not seem to have gone to the roads of the Lyon conurbation where traffic was fluid this morning.
