It is 7 a.m. on May 14 in Yzeron. A peaceful Saturday morning like any other. Under a bright sun, a few hikers already on the way and fishermen heading to Lac du Ronzey.
A motorist takes the Route de la Bourchourie, the so-called “courrier” route linking Yzeron and Vaugneray. It was there that a man armed with a knife and an iron bar assaulted him by hitting his car.
Summonses, electric pulse gun… nothing helps
He manages to continue on his way and calls the gendarmerie. According to our information, the man would have had time to attack a second person but there would be no injuries to deplore.
When they arrive, the police try to arrest him but he refuses to let them. Summonses, electric pulse gun… nothing helps.
The gendarmes then decide to open fire. The firefighters of Saint-Martin-en-haut, quickly on the spot, carry out a resuscitation of the injured before his evacuation by the helicopter of the Samu towards Lyon Sud.
A security perimeter was set up and the gendarmes were still there in the morning, in particular to reassure walkers, who were very worried about this unrest.
An investigation is underway for attempted murder and the use of weapons.
