Whether it’s a pink tutu, a rocky leather jacket or, best of all, both – Riccardo Simonetti simply wears whatever he wants. Our author thinks it is very cool and has clarified a few questions of style right away.

If the answer to your favorite color is “colorful”, you’ve come to the right place! Because Riccardo Simonetti lives and loves in rainbow colors – also when it comes to his style of clothing. With his appearances on TV, on the red carpet and on Instagram, the entertainer and activist inspires thousands of viewers every day: inside and followers: inside, to stand by yourself and just calmly swim against the current. We met him for an interview.

Dear Riccardo, which three words would you use to describe yourself?

Riccardo Simonetti: Unconventional, committed and in a good mood!

“Unconventional” is a good bullet point. You love things colorful, you are conspicuous and you like to turn gender norms upside down with your looks. How do you describe your style?

I don’t care whether the clothes were originally designed for a man or a woman. If I feel comfortable in it and have the feeling that it suits me, then it was made for me. The only problem is: when you shop in the women’s department as a man, you are often stared at. Sellers point out that this is not the right locker room. But at the end of the day there is a pair of jeans, a pair of jeans. Clothing knows no gender.

In which looks do you feel right at home?

I like outfits that have a massage! I’m also a big fan of sequins and feathers. But I also love minimalist clothes like one-shoulder tops and high waist pants. When I stand in front of the mirror and style outfits, I’m never about provocation. It’s never about kicking people’s ties. It’s just about being really me. Everyone has the right to sparkle, you just have to dare!

That sounds easier said than done. Do you have any tips to boost your self-confidence a bit?

One should love oneself more than the opinion of others. Also, you need to be aware that not everyone will laugh at you or make a stupid comment if you dress unconventionally. There will be many people who take their hats off to you. Everyone can exert influence in their small environment. If you go to work or school in a special look, maybe not everyone will like it. But others will feel encouraged to express their personality through their clothing style as well. This thought overshadows all doubts.
