Richard Berry’s eldest daughter, Coline Berry-Rojtman, who accuses him of sexual violence, was sentenced Thursday by the Aurillac court for defamation of her ex-mother-in-law, singer Jeane Manson.
Coline Berry appeals
Coline Berry-Rojtman’s lawyer, Karine Shebabo, immediately announced that she was appealing this decision: “my client is appalled, the parents, aggressors and known, have a bright future ahead of them”.
On February 14, 2021, in an article published by The worldColine Berry-Rojtman spoke of the sexual violence she allegedly suffered when she was a minor, in 1984 and 1985, at the home of her father who was then living with Jeane Manson, accused of having participated in these attacks.
27,000 euros in fines
The Aurillac court sentenced her to a fine of 2,000 euros for defamation following this article and for the television program “Le Live BFM”, in which she claimed that Jeane Manson was part of the children’s sect of God.
Coline Berry-Rojtman was also ordered to pay 20,000 euros in damages to the former singer, as well as 5,000 euros in legal costs.
Also implicated, the journalists of the World and the daily, however, were not condemned.
The investigation still ongoing
“It is a shocking decision, of great violence and a bad signal sent to children”, declared Thursday Mand Shebabo, deploring that this judgment comes while the investigation into the facts is still in progress.
The Berry case, the investigation of which was entrusted to the Brigade for the Protection of Minors, is still ongoing.
Complaint for incestuous acts
Coline Berry had filed a complaint against her father, actor Richard Berry. His eldest daughter, born of his relationship with actress Catherine Hiegel, filed a complaint for incestuous acts (“acts of rape and sexual assault on a 15-year-old minor by ascendant and corruption of a minor” dating back to 1984-1985) which were committed when she was a minor.
A preliminary investigation has been opened since the complaint was filed on January 25. In particular, she explained to the investigators that she had to take part in sexual games while her father was, at the time, in a relationship with the American singer Jeane Manson.
In a long message posted in early February on Instagram, since removed, Coline Berry spoke of “this child, the one who was kissed by her father on the mouth with his tongue, the one with whom her father never had the slightest modesty, the one who had to participate in her sexual games in a context of notorious domestic violence, it was she who filed a complaint.
Richard Berry denies, Jeane Manson speaks of “mytho”
Following these accusations, Richard Berry expressed himself: “I deny with all my strength and without ambiguity these filthy accusations. I have never had inappropriate or incestuous relations with Coline, nor with any of my children”.
” Everything is false. They are unfortunately lies and she, I think, ended up believing them. It’s heartbreaking for a father. I have no attraction for children. I am deeply, frankly, desperate,” the actor said on the stand.
“I didn’t want to file a complaint because she’s my daughter. I wanted to testify to support Jeane Manson”, he explained, referring to a “particular situation”: “We have still not been heard” in the context of the preliminary investigation opened with the Paris prosecutor’s office . ” She lies (…). Since she was ten years old, everyone has called her the mytho, ”answered Jeane Manson in turn.
