Entrepreneur Richard Branson mourns the loss of his mother. He wanted to celebrate the life of a woman who was a "force of nature".

Richard Branson (70, "Losing My Virginity"), one of the most successful and well-known entrepreneurs in the world, mourns the loss of his mother Eve (1924-2021). The former ballet dancer has died at the age of 96, as Branson announced on his website. "Unfortunately, like many people's friends and family members at the moment," she succumbed to the consequences of Covid 19 disease. His mother had successfully fought the corona virus, but had to use all her strength. Branson's sister Vanessa and his nephew Louis were with her until the end.

Family is "the most important thing in the world"

The entrepreneur does not want to mourn his loss, but rather to celebrate his mother's "wonderful life", including "the joy she has brought so many and the love she has given us all". Even in old age she still had the same energy as when he was a boy. "My mom was a force of nature," explains the entrepreneur.

The values she and Branson's father Edward James (1918-2011) conveyed to him and his siblings include the importance of hard work, not taking yourself too seriously and treating other people well. The two had shown their children "how family is the most important thing in the world and they surrounded us with love and encouragement". He owes his career to his mother.
