Richard E. Grant announced that his wife, Joan, has died. They have been a couple for 38 years.
Richard E. Grant (64) mourns his longtime wife, Joan Washington. The actor announced on Twitterthat his wife died on the night of September 3rd. In the tweet, Grant referred to her as “the love of my life”.
Grant explains that the two have been married for 35 years and have been a couple for 38 years. The actor and his wife have a daughter, Olivia. She brought a son into the marriage. Grant and Washington married in 1986. It was an “immeasurable gift” to be “truly known and seen by her.” He also published a short clip in which the two can be seen doing a little dance.
Family was their “north star”
Numerous fans and friends expressed their condolences, including Jessica Chastain (44). Washington, who was the language coach for actors, had worked with her many times as well. Like Richard E. Grant and Olivia, Chastain is “heartbroken”. The deceased had shaped her as an actress and as a woman.
Every day, Chastain looked forward to working with Washington, which was “a barometer of truth with a strong sense of humor”. She also “loved the deceased very much”. Grant and their daughter have always been their “North Star” for Washington.
