The star makes his appearances a family affair

Rare appearance: Hollywood legend Richard Gere shines at the Cannes Film Festival with his wife Alejandra Silva and his eldest son.
Acting legend Richard Gere (74) presented his latest film “Oh, Canada” in Cannes at the weekend. The “Pretty Woman” star made his appearance at the 77th International Film Festival a family affair: On the red carpet before the “Oh, Canada” world premiere, Gere appeared in love with his wife Alejandra Silva (41). Son Homer James Jigme Gere (24) was also present at the afterparty after the acclaimed premiere, as the US magazine “People” reports. On Saturday evening (May 18th), Silva and Gere attended the “Women in Cinema” gala on the Croisette together, hosted by “Vanity Fair”, among others.
Richard Gere is the father of three sons
Stars like Uma Thurman (54), who also appeared in “Oh, Canada”, model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (37) and Eiza González (34), known from “Baby Driver”, were also at the “Women in Cinema” gala present. For the event, Gere wore a simple, classic suit in black, combined with a white shirt and left out the tie. Wife Alejandra Silva, on the other hand, was a stylish eye-catcher with her lilac tulle dress with cut-outs and lace applications.
Richard Gere’s son Homer James Jigme Gere, also present in Cannes, comes from the star’s second marriage to actress Carey Lowell (63). The two actors, who tied the knot in 2002, announced their separation in 2013. His third marriage to Silva has so far produced two children: four-year-old Alexander and another son born in 2020, whose name has not yet been made public.
Silva and Gere secretly married in 2018 after his marriage to Lowell ended in divorce in 2016. His current wife is 33 years younger than the star. Gere was previously married to supermodel Cindy Crawford (58) from 1991 to 1995. The marriage remained childless.
