Richard Herd: "Seinfeld" actor has lost the fight against cancer

Long-time US actor Richard Herd (1932-2020) is dead. This is reported, among other things, by the industry magazine "Variety". Herd was 87 years old. The actor died in his home in Los Angeles from complications related to cancer.

Herd started acting at a young age. He made his film debut in 1970 in "Hercules in New York" alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger (72). In the following decades, he was seen in numerous other roles, including "The Untouchables" (1976) and Jordan Peeles (41) "Get Out".

In addition, Herd had numerous roles in often acclaimed series such as "Kojak – Mission in Manhattan", "Knight Rider", "The A-Team", "Matlock", "Buffy – Under the Spell of Demons" and in "Star Trek: Voyager" . He was particularly known for the portrayal of Mr. Wilhelm in the US sitcom "Seinfeld". Among other things, the actor leaves behind his wife Patricia and his children Erica and Rick.
