Rick and Morty: “due to lack of evidence”, the investigation for domestic violence which targeted its co-creator has been closed

The co-creator of Rick and Morty reacted on Twitter, following the decision of the American justice to close the investigation for domestic violence which targeted him, for lack of sufficient evidence.

“Justice” has been served. In any case, this is what Justin Roiland, the co-creator of Rick and Morty, claims shortly after the announcement of the abandonment of the charges against him for alleged domestic violence.

In a press release relayed by the American press, the spokesperson for the Orange County district attorney announced that the investigation had been closed, “lack of sufficient evidence” to pronounce judgment.

In a message posted on his Twitter account, which has remained inactive since his dismissal from the Rick and Morty and Solar Opposites series, Justin Roiland denounced the media judgment to which he was subjected, believing that he had been unfairly cancel :

“I always knew these accusations were false – and I never doubted that day would come. said about me throughout this affair.

But most of all, I’m disappointed that so many people rushed to judge me without knowing the facts, these accusations were based only on the words of a hateful ex who tried to circumvent the truth and get me canceled. That it had any chance of succeeding, even partially, is shameful.

Nonetheless, now that the charges are dropped, I am determined to move on and focus on my creative endeavors and clearing my honour.”

Despite the end of the investigation, it seems unlikely that Justin Roiland will return to work on Rick and Morty, of which he is credited as co-creator, but also as a dubbing actor for the two main characters of the program.

Following his dismissal, many screenwriters denounced the latter’s disrespectful behavior, while the American media revealed that Roiland had not spoken to Dan Harmon (the other co-creator of the series) for several years. years.

Innocent in the eyes of the law, Justin Roiland will therefore be able to devote himself to new projects, provided that he finds a new platform that will agree to collaborate with a screenwriter from now on. persona non grata at Adult Swim and Hulu (subsidiary of the Disney group).
