What is this promotion on Advantage cards?
The Trainline site is currently offering a 30% reduction on SCNF Youth, Adult and Senior Advantage cards, thanks to the promo code HOHOHO to enter in the basket when making payment. Normally offered at €49 for one year, Advantage cards see their price increase to €32.83 for one year.
Note that you can purchase a new card, or simply renew your existing card. The offer is valid until December 20, 2023.
What are SNCF Advantage cards?
The SNCF Advantage card allows you to obtain a 30% reduction on ticket prices, particularly on TGV trains. The card works all year round and on all trips in France, and in certain European countries. Note that you will not be able to take certain TERs with your Avantage card, in regions which manage network pricing independently. To get reductions, you will have to use regional reduction cards. Depending on the regions you are going to, make sure that the Avantage card is really… an advantage.
The Advantage card is available in three options: Youth (12 – 27 years), Adult (27 – 59 years) and Senior (over 60 years). It entitles you to a 30% reduction on TGV and Intercités trains and a 60% reduction for accompanying children aged 4 to 11, and up to three children maximum. An accompanying adult can also benefit from a 30% reduction. The Card also offers preferential rates: 25 to 50% reduction on TER tickets in addition to capped prices on the TGV Inoui and Intercités, which is always a good idea with the price of tickets soaring.
Are Advantage cards worth it at 30% off?
This is a very good deal if you plan to travel during the holidays (and you manage to get your tickets), and if you travel often during the year. The Avantage card offers other reductions on SNCF services, such as car rental or bar and catering services on board TGVs.
Finally, Trainline is a free and reliable application dedicated to booking train and bus travel. You can make train and bus ticket reservations with transport companies such as Eurostar, Thalys, Flixbus, SNCF and Ouigo. If you frequently use the French transport network, the Trainline website, as well as the app, are excellent alternatives to SNCF Connect.
