Rihanna graces the May issue of Vogue while pregnant. In the interview she talks about her pregnancy and her relationship with A$AP Rocky.
Singer Rihanna (34) is one of the few stars who does not hide her pregnancy. Whether on the red carpets, in everyday life or now on the cover of “Vogue”: The 34-year-old proudly presents her baby bump. Rihanna graces the May issue of the magazine in a fitted red lace bodysuit for a sexy look. “My body is doing incredible things at the moment and I will not be ashamed of that,” she says in an interview with “Vogue”. “This time should feel like a celebration. Because why hide your pregnancy?”
When Rihanna found out she was pregnant, she “decided not to shop for maternity clothes.” The reason: It’s “just too much fun to dress up”. She doesn’t let this take her away “just because my body is changing,” says the singer. Recently, the 34-year-old has often appeared in cropped looks and thus staged her baby ball. Rihanna wants to be a role model for other expectant mothers: “I hope that I’ve managed to redefine what is considered ‘decent’ for pregnant women,” she explains.
Where will Rihanna’s child grow up?
With the fashion queen, one could assume that she has already fully equipped her baby in terms of fashion. But none: “I’m so behind with everything,” admits Rihanna. “I haven’t bought anything yet.” What she already knows, however, is that when the baby is born, she wants to breastfeed. “I pray that my body will allow me,” hopes the 34-year-old. What worries her the most after the birth is a possible postpartum depression: “Will I lose control of my feelings? These are the stories I hear from other women and they scare me.”
It’s “difficult to say” where her child will grow up. Rihanna’s dream place is “at home in Barbados”. “But realistically, it probably won’t work,” explains the singer, who was born in Saint Michael, Barbados.
Rihanna raves about A$AP Rocky
In the interview, Rihanna not only raves about her pregnancy, but also about her partner A$AP Rocky (33). During the Corona period, he became her “family”. “I love the simple things, but also the big adventures,” she says of the relationship. “I just feel like I can master any part of life alongside him.” What she loves most is how transparent the two can talk about everything: “How we feel, what our goals are, what our fears and insecurities are, the vulnerability of being able to say what you feel for each other.”
In early February 2021, Rihanna confirmed her pregnancy. Singer and rapper A$AP Rocky have been dating since late 2020.
