Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Camera: finally a 360° vision in the catalog

Finally a 360° camera from Ring. Indoors and outdoors, motorized surveillance cameras have become established in recent years, but the American manufacturer had long resisted. The Pan-Tilt Indoor Camera therefore now fills this absence in its catalog, even if this first motorized model does not intend to address all uses. As the name suggests, it was designed for indoor use only. For outdoors, remember that a motorized base can be added to the Stick Up Cam.

360° panoramic vision, 169° on the vertical axis

The Pan-Tilt Indoor Camera does not seem completely new, but is more like an Indoor Cam perched on a new, more imposing stand. And for good reason. It is in this foot that all the “magic” happens, since it contains the motors allowing you to rotate the camera remotely, and thus enjoy 360° panoramic vision with a fixed angle of 115°. The tilt is also adjustable and opens the vertical field of view from 59 to 169°, but Ring surprisingly does not mention an automatic tracking function.

The camera itself is identical to Ring’s latest indoor model. We thus find the confidentiality component of the latter, as well as a 2 Mpx sensor capable of producing 1080p images day and night thanks to infrared vision. As with the latest Stick Up Cam, Ring talks about color night vision, but it’s more about color vision in low light. In terms of functionality, the Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam can obviously detect movements, but the Ring Protect subscription is once again necessary to benefit from intelligent alerts, but also recordings in the absence of a microSD slot.

The new Ring camera will be launched at the end of May at the recommended retail price of €79.99. The 2nd gen Indoor Cam remains in the catalog with a recommended retail price of €59.99 and three new colors: Blush, Charcoal and Starlight.
