Rio Tinto: renews partnerships in Australia

(CercleFinance.com) – Rio Tinto will commit 75 million Australian dollars over 10 years to renew its partnerships with the Shire of Ashburton and the City of Karratha in the Pilbara region to continue the realization of a series of important community projects in the two regions.

The renewed partnerships will build on and strengthen Rio Tinto’s relationships with its local government partners.

Richard Cohen, Chief Executive of Rio Tinto, said: ‘Rio Tinto is committed to being a good local business and that starts with connecting with the communities where we do business.’

Shire of Ashburton Chairman Kerry White acknowledged the success of the partnership with Rio Tinto over the past ten years. “Partnering with Rio Tinto has enabled the county to deliver a series of key events, activities and infrastructure to communities,” she said.
