According to on-chain detective ZachXBT, Ripple was hacked for a total amount of $112M, or approximately 213M in XRP. The hackers have already had time to launder the funds via different exchanges.

According to ZachXBT, on-chain detective, Ripple was hit by an attack yesterday. The network would have been hacked for a total amount of $112 million.

The hackers wasted no time after stealing the funds, and have already started whiten these through platforms like MEXC, Gate.io, Binance, Kraken, OKX, HTX and HitBTC. For his part, the co-founder of Ripple, Chris Larsen, reacted to the detective’s comments. The man would actually be the main victim of the hack:

“Yesterday there was unauthorized access to a few of my personal XRP (Not Ripple) accounts. We were quickly able to detect the problem and ask the exchanges to freeze the addresses in question. The police are already involved »he declared on X.

Ripple price falls after being hacked


The price of Ripple (XRP) did not escape unscathed. Shortly after ZachXBT’s announcement, XRP saw a significant plunge, going from $0.5063 to $0.4955 in just a few minutes. Furthermore, the network’s native token has suffered a drop in value of around 4% over the last 24 hours.

For now, Ripple has not issued any comments and has not yet addressed its users publicly regarding these facts. Time should prove the co-founder of the network right or, conversely, the people who questioned his words.
